55 Fiction Friday! October 5, 2007
It's time again for 55 Fiction Friday! Details on what it is and how to play at the end of the post.
I humbly apologize for my lack of posting this week. Unfortunately, until I find a way to blog and/or write for a living, I must continue to slave away for The Man. We’ll try the 55 Topic of the Week next time.
Here’s my 55 for the week
Politics
I asked Granddaddy if he was going to vote for our neighbor, Mr. Williams, in the city election. He, adamantly, stated he would not. Stunned, because I knew my grandfather thought highly of Mr. Williams, I asked why.
“Why would I want to vote for him? He’s a good man now. Politics will ruin that.”

The principles of lust are easy to understand.
The rhythm of the music
The dancing light of candles
The crack of the whip
The line drawn in the flesh
The gasp for air
The delicious orgasm
The body going limp
“Beautiful! Are you a Master?”
“No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.”

55 fiction is a very, very short story of exactly 55 words. It needs to have a character, conflict and resolution.
The Wikipedia article on 55 Fiction is here and some great examples are here..

Come play! Add your story to the comments or put it on your blog and I'll link to it. It's fun. You'll like it.

Moving In
Big boxes, little boxes, some heavy some light.
I spent the last 9 days enthralled in this fight.
Lift this one... Pull here... Carry that right!
I hope we finish soon, I’m running out of might.
Unpack and setup, the end is in sight.
Oh good, found the body paint, I foresee a good night!
Carefully crafting her answer, she stayed in silent thought for a few more minutes. Her suitor waited anxiously while praying for a positive response. After a few minutes, she answered, “Yes, I will”. Relief and joy showed on the suitors face. “But only if you include the luggage rack, cruise control, and a spare tire”.
McWurdi;
You are brilliant!
It's not as good as last week's, but it is a continuation of sorts and it's up now at my blog.
SGT....your entry really 'moved' me! Excellent!
ANTICIPATTION...IS IT SOMETIMES MORE EXCITING THAN WHAT IS FOUND IN THE END? WAITING. HOPING. BUTTERFLIES IN THE STOMACH. HEART POUNDING SLIGHTLY FASTER...PALMS SWEATING JUST SLIGHTLY. A SMILE APPEARS AS THE TIME NEAR...HOW LONG HAS IT BEEN? SEEMS LIKE FOREVER, BUT THAT CAN’T BE TRUE... MEMORIES FOIL THAT THOUGHT. FINGERS DRUM ON THE TABLE. A CONNECTION...A SPARK...WOW!
I’VE GOT MAIL!
Oooh, I like Mr Wudri's. Very hot!
How weird to just find your comment in my guestbook on Xanga after an entire year! It brought up a million questions and thoughts...so I considered for a while how I should respond. I asked myself, "does non-fiction have any place in a 55 Fiction Friday comment box?" I thought, "look at James Frey!"
Thank you, Thank you, I'm here all weekend!

SGT, awesome as usual. Hope the move-in process goes smoothly.
Katia, you "drive" a hard bargain. Nice 55.
Guinness, I left a comment at your blog. Perhaps, you should consider changing you name from Guinness to Genius.
Marcia, very nice! Hope it wasn't SPAM.
Yourstruly, I've missed you. I can't remember the Xanga site name but I miss reading you. You have such a lyrical way of writing.
As for MrWurdi, well, I'm a lucky gal.
