Namaste

I was reminded of this word and what it means earlier today and I wanted to share it with you.

"In India when we meet and part we often say,
'Namaste,' which means...
I honor the place in you where the entire universe resides,
I honor the place in you of love, of light, of truth, of peace.
I honor the place within you where if you are in that place in you
and I am in that place in me, there is only one of us. Namaste."

from Ram Dass, in Grist for the Mill

And here I thought it was just a catchy bumper sticker on all my Hippie friends' vehicles.

I have Hippie friends, too! I love the whole idea behind Namaste. It celebrates what is good and similar in us all - that inner light. It's perfect when I'm feeling optimistic about life and humanity. Of course, on other days, I'm cranking up Drowning Pool's "Bodies" as loud as the stereo can handle. ~shrug~

It's all about balance, right?
Touchy-feely AND rage.
